It is indeed a big problem when we stay home for a long time. Yes, it might be refreshing but sometimes we can get carried away and forget how to stay healthy. We start bad habits like eating unhealthy foods, staying up late at night, remained glued to our bed the whole day and using our smartphones for a long period of time and the like. There are always ways on how to stay healthy at home and it is up to you to find an approach to do these things. Staying healthy does not always mean that we focus on the physical aspect of our life but as well as the emotional, mental and spiritual side. Here are some suggestions to be healthy:

  1. PLAN YOUR DAY — Planning your day can be very helpful. You can list down things you want to achieve in a day, a week or a month depending on what you’re comfortable planning. It will also become a reminder for you to do things and it will help you to do things in a step by step process
  2. WAKE UP EARLY — Forcing yourself to wake up early is not healthy, so it is up to you to set an alarm according to your planned schedule. I always set my alarm at 9:30 in the morning as it helps me become productive for the day and gives me a lot of time to relax.
  3. EXERCISE — It may be difficult for us to be active at home but we can find simple exercise routines online and on the television as well. I follow exercise routines online especially from accessible websites like YouTube and Instagram. Exercising can help boost your self esteem and help you concentrate better.
  4. DECLUTTER — Some people always think of clothes when it comes to decluttering but for me it also includes things inside our smartphones, laptops or tablets and including things that become a burden to us. Our smartphones contain a lot of applications that we use, and sometimes we can uninstall applications that are not healthy to us and distract us from reality. As well as deleting pictures, videos, texts, documents we do not need in the future. This will clear up a lot of space in our smartphones that we might need in the future.
  5. SLEEP EARLY — We tend to do things late at night like rush our work, play games using our smartphones, and overthink a lot. Well, a human being needs about 8 hours of sleep as it will help us boost our immunity and mental well-being. So, we should learn to sleep early and do things important during the day as we are more active at daytime. With this, we can plan our day and take things step by step.
  6. TALK ABOUT YOUR FEELINGS — Talking to someone can help you maintain good mental health. Always remember that you are not alone, and you can talk to people like your friends, about things you are stressed about.
  7. EAT WELL — Eating healthy will also help your body and mind to function well. You can always consult a health expert or ask for help if you are having a hard time eating healthy.

8. TAKE A BREAK — Pause for a minute. Always remind yourself that you are a human after all and you need to take breaks as long as you want. Meditate, unwind, disconnect from social media, as long as it is a time for yourself then it is fine. Sometimes we need time to take care of ourselves in order to keep our body and mind relaxed.

We all have our own ways of staying healthy and it is up to you what to follow. Remember, staying healthy goes a long way but take your time and do not pressure yourself too much!
